I love this saying and I love the image that is with it. It couldn't be more perfect for me. I told you last week that I really want to be able to run a 5k and that I started the Couch to 5k program. Today I finished my 5th run. I felt heavy, like my legs were cement. We have been feeling a bit under the weather and I know that was the cause. 10 minutes into my run I wanted to quit and go home. I just kept telling myself it will be done soon and I will be so glad I finished. I thought about my goal of being able to run a 5k. About how I will be done with the program the Friday before Christmas and 2.5 weeks before I turn 32. I thought about how great I feel when I am done with a run. I thought about how I didn't want to quit and that I wanted be able to say I did it. That is what kept me going.....thinking about the "WHY" I started in the first place.
Next time you set a goal and you feel like quitting, remember why you started.
I received this email a few days ago. Thanks Ruth for sharing! Great job!
(This is why I host these challenges. To hopefully make a difference.)
I had my fifth baby back in January and could not get motivated to exercise. My friend sent me the link to your challenge and it was just what I needed. I love the way it keeps my mind focused throughout the day with my eating habits. It has also helped me express appreciation for people, not just think it. So far, I've gone from a size 12-14 to an 8-10, lost about 10-15 pounds and had to cinch up my belt an extra hole! The best thing is how amazing I have felt. I have energy and I feel like I can actually make it through the day with a little leftover. I've told my family about this challenge and they want to create one similar just for our family. Thank you so much! I look forward to the next one and hope that in the meantime I can keep up with the good habits!
