{Dairy and Gluten Free Hot Chocolate Recipe}

I absolutely LOVE hot chocolate.  The only problem is whenever I used to drink it I felt awful after. My face and fingers would instantly feel puffy, my stomach would feel bloated and extended, and I would feel pretty tired too. HELLO! That should have been my clue that dairy didn't agree with me. For the last year I have recreated a hot chocolate that is absolutely delicious and is healthful too. My children beg me to make it. The best part is it is super fast and easy.  Enjoy!

Hot Chocolate – Dairy and Gluten Free           

3 cups almond milk, original
1 TBS cocoa powder
3 TBS pure maple syrup
1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Heat milk in a medium pot on stove until warmed to desired temperature. I like mine hot.  Once warm, pour milk into blender. I use a Vitamix. Now add your cocoa powder, maple syrup, and vanilla. Start blending on low and increase the speed slowly.  Blend for about 30 seconds to a minute.  Pour into mugs and enjoy!

*Make sure to read blender instructions on how to use hot liquids. You can be severely burned if not careful.

*I tried making this with coconut milk. I did not like it as much. The coconut overpowered the chocolate.
